Tempe Bound - Day Uno

Trevor and I left the cities around 3:30... bad idea. Traffic was terrible.

I'll skip the boring drive through Iowa and fast forward 7 and a half hours to when we arrived in Nebraska. After picking up Austin and getting him some MacDon's we made a stop at WalMart to get some sandwich stuff for the drive to Denver.

Soon after we completed the making of our 17 or so turkey sandwiches, Trevor and Austin fell asleep on the couches, I got the floor (it was a personal choice... a bad one).

We got an early start on our day. Going an average rate of 83 mph, there wasn't too much going on with Nebraska. It was a nice day and we noticed that, even though it was 55 degrees out, there were still locals ice fishing on the tiny ponds we passed. As we got deeper into the state, it seemed like we lost track of civilization.

Every now and then there would be a janky rest stop where we switched drivers and stretched our legs.

The Prius is performing like a champ. With gas being around only $1.50 a gallon, it is really cheap to fill up; although, we only needed to fill up twice since we left.

We stopped for a rest break in a town where Austin's family supposedly had stayed once before. It was everything I had expected it to be.

We arrived into Denver around 3:30 p.m. and decided to go get some pizza in the mountains. Delicious. The "locals" put honey on the fluffy crust and eat it like a dessert.

After pizza we went to downtown Denver to walk around. I wasn't wearing a coat.
